Florida Highway Patrol targeting aggressive drivers for the next 7 days

Attention anyone who plans on driving on Florida’s highways anytime between now and October 20th.  The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) has announced a crackdown geared at safety between cars and large trucks.

Specifically, anyone who appears to be speeding, tailgating, changing lanes without giving proper space to large vehicles or following too closely will be pulled over and given a citation.

The FHP has noticed an increase in fatal accidents between cars and large vehicles and they are trying to get the word out that people need to treat large vehicles differently, as they are not as maneuverable as cars and need more space to stop and they have larger blind spots.

Please be careful on all Florida roads, but especially the highways where large trucks and cars are more frequently sharing the same roads.
