I'm all for "honesty is the best policy," especially when it comes to trying to get out of a speeding ticket.  In fact, in a past post, on how to avoid getting a speeding ticket, actually being honest was one of the top ways.  In most instances, the officers are almost shocked to hear a person give an honest answer, and in many cases, it works and you are let off without a ticket.

The thing to remember about speeding tickets is that an officer can't walk into court and tell the judge "I know he was speeding, that's why I wrote the speeding ticket."  Obviously, all cops know they have to have proof, otherwise known as evidence.  For speeding tickets, that proof usually comes in the form of a radar gun.  Although there are many different ways to determine speed, the radar gun is still the most widely used.
